See that purple ribbon around Cocoa's neck? AT AGE 14, COCOA EARNED HER OBEDIENCE BEGINNER NOVICE TITLE!!! If she can do it, any dog can! Hurray Cocoa! Fig earned his 2nd leg in Beginner Novice Obedience (1st place), and Zada, who flunked out in Open Obedience, pulled off a Rally Excellent Leg. Great fun, wonderful trophies and a bunch o' ribbons.
I wanted to make something very special for Maquah's ashes. I threw and decorated his urn using a very complicated raku technique that results in brilliant rainbow colors. Rest in peace, my buddy. Miss you terribly.
Maquah was diagnosed a month ago with a rare liver disease, Biliary Cancer. Today, after a bittersweet day at the beach where he carried his bumper with him everywhere, we said goodbye. Our elegant, goofy, obedient, boisterous, inventive, loyal, sweet, affectionate boy, Maquah. His every step was filled with immense joy and an infinite curiousity for whatever lay ahead. There's a huge hole in our hearts; part of me wants it to go away and part of me wants to never forget. We loved him so much.
This feisty little "diva" from the Maquah x Rosie breeding found her forever home with the Lerner family. They live close by, and have a pool! We can't wait to watch her grow up and thrive. Known among her siblings as "princess avida", we have this feeling she's going to live up to her name!
Chip, from the Maquah x Regina litter, is one hot dawg! He and his mom, Miriam Bucks, have worked their tails off (well, not really!) to achieve this uber-advanced level agility title. Lots of hard work and long weekends. We are so proud!
